Young Adults in Credit Unions
Job title: Member Service Representative
Credit Union: Illinois State University Credit Union
School: Morton High School
More about me:
I am a single mother of a beautiful seven month old baby girl. Being a single mom is challenging, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. In my spare time, which is becoming increasingly rare, I enjoy going out with my friends. I am very into music and the arts. I have been in a few bands, and theatre productions. I love to see live music, the louder the better. I attend local concerts and venues whenever I get the opportunity. I love to paint and sketch and I am a sucker for a good video game. That's me!
What is your favorite thing about working at your credit union?
My favorite thing about working in a credit union is being able to go above and beyond what people expect to do right by the member. We don’t just say we care about our members, we deliver. It’s like every member is a part of our family… and we take care of our family.
How much did you know about credit unions before you started working at one?
I didn't know much about credit unions before I worked for one. I had my car loan at ISU Credit Union before I was employed there. I knew they had competitive rates. I now have more knowledge about finances and investing than I ever imagined.
What did you want to be when you were a kid, and why?
When I was a wee child I wanted to be a rock star. Music has always been my passion in life, and i have always tried to keep myself involved in one way or another. Besides, I've always thought girls in bands rule!
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Morton. It's a small town in central Illinois. One of those places where you are the only one out after dark. You rule the town! I always had a good time there.
