More about me:
Iím fortunate to have acquired a lot of financial knowledge from my experiences with credit unions. Otherwise, I donít think I would have learned as much about finances from school (or even my family!) Thatís why I support financial literacy efforts - I volunteer on the California & Nevada Youth Involvement Board and teach Junior Achievement programs at local schools. I love to learn and I love to teach. Itís fun to share my experience and knowledge with others to help them grow in different areas of their lives. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with my family, especially playing board games, attending church and designing websites.

What is your favorite thing about working at your credit union?
My favorite part of the job is maintaining our website; I enjoy knowing our members can visit our website and view our latest information at any time. I also like teaching people about credit unions. Lots of people donít know that when you become a credit union member, youíre also an owner of the credit union and that weíre run by a volunteer Board of Directors instead of owned by stockholders like banks.

How much did you know about credit unions before you started working at one?
I had no clue what a credit union was before I began working for one. I immediately noticed a difference between credit unions and banks. The credit union staff showed how they care for members, not just the business they brought in. At first, I almost thought this was too good to be true. But each and every day I see members come in with concerns about their finances and our staff take the time to help them out, not just complete the transaction and move on.

Who do you admire most, and why?
I admire my grandparents the most because they have been married for over 60 years and have been there for me. I respect the fact that they have invested a lot of time in our family - they havenít missed a single holiday or birthday for any of our family members. I know if I have a need, they are there for me; they have always had the time to listen, the time to give advice and the time to share experiences with me. Family is a priority for them and I really love and respect that. I also admire my parents for instilling good morals and work ethics in me. My favorite thing I learned from my mother is baking & cooking and my favorite thing I learned from my father is how to be creative.

If you only had one opportunity to travel, where would you go?
Iíve always wanted to see Australia; the people seem to be very enthusiastic and upbeat, I like being out in the sun and Iíd like to see the exotic animals!
