Best Apps For Your Car

I have an app to record what I eat, to edit photos, to play Sudoku; I even have an app that allows me to write sticky notes to myself. But I don’t have any apps for my car.

There are a number of smartphone apps out that can help car owners and buyers make better decisions and save money. After some browsing, I found a couple that I should probably download as soon as possible.

The first app I found, RepairPal, helps with car maintenance. It keeps track of all maintenance I’ve had done and what I need to get checked out based on my mileage and the age of the car. This could help me immensely as I am always forgetting or unsure of what I need to get done with my car. Rather than guess, wait, or forget completely, I can take some time to check the app. It also helps comparison shop auto repair shops to find the user the best price.

Another app I should probably look into is the one from my insurance company. I’ve used it before on an old phone, but this app is incredibly helpful if you’re ever in an accident or need immediate assistance. I had to use it when my sunroof shattered on a drive back home. I was able to look up the number, call immediately, access my insurance cards, and the process was relatively smooth. Now that I have a new phone, I should probably get the app again.

Finally, another app to look into is one that searches the area for the best gas prices, Gas Buddy. With gas costing more than $3 a gallon, I need to make sure I am getting the best price. These kinds of apps search different gas stations and let you know what the best price is and where the station is located. These apps aren’t as beneficial if you desperately need to get gas, but they can help save money if there’s a great price nearby.

Those are just a few examples of car related apps that are out there. There are so many out there that it can be difficult to know what you might need or what might help.

What are your favorite car-related apps?
