The Perks of Customer Loyalty

A couple weeks ago, I went to the auto shop to get my oil changed. I’ve been going to the same place for the past few oil changes and for other auto-maintenance needs. Each time I’m there, they remind me of different things I need to get done.

This past time, I needed to get my oil changed really bad. I had waited a little long on my mileage, so I was excited to see that the auto shop was open on a Sunday. I was able to get in right away and they even gave me a discount for coming in on a Sunday.

Additionally, because they keep records, they know that I also need to get something else done with my fuel injectors. They again reminded me of this, although this time, they told me that because of my loyalty to them, they’d give me a $20 discount on the service.

I was somewhat surprised by the offer. I know there are loyalty programs out there and I even take advantage of some of them. But usually those loyalty programs are advertised and highly promoted. This isn’t. It’s not advertised or promoted. It’s just a bonus that they give to their loyal customers.

It’s these types of programs that keep people coming back to companies. It will definitely keep me going back to that place, even if it is a little more expensive.

Are you more likely to frequent a place that rewards you?
